Job Details - YouTube Channel Manager (Warner Bros International Television Production)

Department/Company Overview

The Group Digital team is a growing unit within Warner Bros. International Television Production Ltd (WBITVP) that spans all of its TV productions companies both in the UK and overseas. With a diverse range of skills in a small, agile team, its global remit is two-fold:

1. To re-purpose, promote, monetise and manage existing IP from the group on emerging digital and social platforms. 
2. As a consultancy resource to the group companies advising on digital and social strategy as they develop and produce new TV and digital commissions, as well as producing digital content to support our IP.

Primary Purpose of the Job

To edit quality, effective and compelling video content for YouTube and other Social Media platforms linked to existing WBITVP productions and original digital content developed from within the WBITVP group of companies. To upload, schedule and optimise video content on YouTube channels to agreed strategies and manage the ongoing operations of those channels. To be an active part of the creative process across the whole digital team, contributing to new ideas and responding to new opportunities in the constantly evolving digital space.

Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to: 

  • Select and edit TV clips for YouTube and other social platforms using Premiere Pro
  • Upload and schedule videos as per the publication schedule
  • Optimise videos - titles, descriptions, metadata, keyword SEO 
  • Write and update copy for video and channel descriptions
  • Optimise channel - playlists, artwork, channel description, watermark etc
  • Ensure the channel adheres to YouTube and Warner Bros. best practice
  • Create and optimise thumbnails using Photoshop
  • Community management - daily interaction with audiences (comment, like etc), plan and publish on the community tab (when the channel reaches 10k subs) 
  • Community building - grow subscriber base using optimisation, curation and publication
  • Liaise with production teams to source assets and materials
  • Monitor and evaluate analytics to understand channel growth and audience development
  • Edit original content to support TV productions for YouTube and other social platforms
  • Occasionally edit of taster tapes and sizzle reels for the WBITVP group of companies
  • Create graphic assets for social platforms when required
  • Organise and maintain an efficient edit system with consistent production values
  • Manage your own time effectively, often balancing numerous projects simultaneously
  • Occasionally attend location shoots of original content
  • Contribute to regular channel reviews to improve all key metrics
  • Liaise with key personnel within the WBITVP group of TV production companies to ensure the successful delivery of creative assets and edits
  • Keep up to date with creative trends and technical developments in the digital and social media industries. Bring new ideas and opportunities to the team and the company as a whole
  • Be flexible with requests and the development of the role. Social and digital content is a fast-changing sector of the media industry and we are expected to be the experts within the WBITVP group of companies. The above list is of responsibilities is indicative of the role but by no means the extent of it.


Education and Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years working in digital media / digital production editing video content for social platforms and managing the publication and metadata surrounding it.
  • Experience at working within the TV broadcast industry is desirable but not essential
  • Education or training in Digital Content Producing / Video Production is desirable but not essential

Skills And Abilities:

  • Proven ability to edit video content on Premiere Pro to a solid creative and technical standard
  • Proven experience at creatively managing YouTube or other social channels
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency across multiple short-form videos
  • Organisation and management of video workflows to safeguard creative IP logically and efficiently
  • Experience and understanding of YouTube tags and content management systems
  • Ability to create and manipulate images in Photoshop
  • Ability to write concise and effective video titles and descriptions
  • A deep understanding and appreciation of short-form video content on social platforms: What’s hot right now? What trends and techniques can we apply to our own content? How can we compete in this dynamic and exciting new space?

  • Experience with video codecs and compression techniques
  • Live streaming experience and technical skills
  • 360 VR experience and technical skills

  • Spanish speaker
  • Graphic design and animation (After Effects)
  • Location filming experience (5D / XF305 / C300 cameras)
