Job Purpose

We are looking for a Technical Assistant to join our busy post-production team that work across all group companies (Ricochet, Wall to Wall Media, Twenty Twenty, and Renegade Pictures) providing services and support to all our clients.

 

This is a junior, entry level position for someone who is technically minded and who wants to develop a career in the technical side of post-production. You will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is organised and systems driven.  An ability to provide excellent client service at all times, both face to face and in written communication is essential. You will have an aptitude for technical workflows & media management, with a willingness to learn.

This role will suit someone wanting to eventually become an Edit Assistant who wants to work in a busy post-production facility in an exciting and rewarding sector.  As with any Media / Television company, at times you will work within a very fast paced environment which requires an ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise when multiple tasks must be managed simultaneously.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 

·        Responsible for the organisation and maintenance of the onsite library

·        Handle all tapes and digital media coming into and out of the facility

·        Order and monitor the delivery of relevant media from the external library

·        Fully responsible for the backup kits, including booking, billing, maintenance and training Production in their use

·        Manage the long-term digital archive for all WBTVPUK Productions – including uploads to sales sites, You Tube & the internal viewing copy library

·        Liaise with Production on all aspects of their library needs & backup kit requirements

·        Suite set up and responsible for clearing suites ready for new clients

·        Basic MCR tasks, including but not limited to: viewing copy exports, ingest and backing up media

·        Booking tasks onto the scheduling system and supporting the Post Supervisors as necessary

·        Raise POs for stock and any other items as requested by your line manager

 Ad Hoc Duties

 You may be required to work occasional weekends and additional hours if necessary.  

 

Key Skills and Competencies


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • First class organisational abilities and an ability to schedule resources effectively
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the confidence to interact with stakeholders of all levels
  • Must have excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Understanding the basics of media & drive management
  • An understanding of the Post-Production process would be helpful
  • An ability to work unsupervised with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Experience as a Runner/Librarian in a post-production facility is desirable but not essential
