ROLE: SERIES PRODUCER / DIRECTOR (SP/D)
?? LOCATION: London-based + international filming
?? DATES: 9 November 2026 – 28 May 2027
South Shore is looking for an experienced Series Producer / Director to lead a new talent-led documentary series for a UK broadcaster, aimed at a younger audience.
We're looking for a brilliant factual storyteller with strong editorial instincts, excellent directing skills and significant experience producing and directing established on-screen talent.
Ideally, you'll have experience making contemporary, talent-led documentaries for a youth-skewing audience and be confident leading filming both in the UK and internationally.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
?? Has strong Series Producer / Director credits across factual documentaries, ideally with experience making programmes aimed at younger audiences.
? Has significant experience producing and directing established on-screen talent, building trusted relationships and getting the very best out of them on camera.
?? Has experience filming internationally and is confident navigating the editorial challenges of overseas shoots.
?? Has excellent editorial judgement, strong documentary storytelling instincts and the ability to shape compelling, character-driven narratives.
?? Is a confident and accomplished director, able to lead shoots and make strong editorial decisions on location.
?? Has experience leading editorial teams and working collaboratively with production colleagues.
?? Has strong edit experience, with the ability to shape compelling factual narratives in the edit, work closely with Editors and oversee the editorial process through to delivery.
?? Understands what appeals to a youth-skewing audience and how to create authentic, engaging and contemporary factual content.
?? IMPORTANT: Applicants must hold a valid passport and be available for international filming.
