A fantastic opportunity to work on BBC Wales Children In Need Special.

BBC Studios is seeking an experienced Researcher to join our team. Shooting experience desirable but not essential.

BASE: Cardiff.You will be required to work a minimum 3 days a week in our Roath Lock production office when not filming around Wales.

DATES: 13th of July - 2nd of October 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Researching and finding compelling stories and contributors.
  2. Experience in setting up and scheduling shoots.
  3. Working on location and supporting the Producer/Director and on-screen talent.
  4. Operating sound and self-shooting second camera for VT/postcard segments (desirable).

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Strong personable and people skills.
  2. Demonstrate working to deadlines and a tight schedule.
  3. Proven experience as a TV Researcher with a solid understanding of the production process.
  4. Strong teamworking and excellent organisational and scheduling skills.
  5. Comfortable sourcing contributors and facilities via phone and email.
  6. Experience working with vulnerable groups and a sound understanding of safeguarding practices.
  7. Excellent knowledge of Wales and its communities.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
  2. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
