Assistant Producer – Countryfile Rambles

Countryfile, BBC1’s flagship factual series, is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Producer to join the Rambles team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong editorial judgement and a proven track record working on sensitive, impactful content.

Working alongside a Producer, you will help develop and deliver high-quality films for the Rambles strand, building strong relationships with young contributors and their families and telling authentic, engaging stories.

The role requires a solid understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and ethical storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

·Build and manage contributor relationships with sensitivity.

·Ensure compliance with editorial, legal, and safeguarding guidelines.

·Collaborate effectively across production teams.

·Work effectively with multiple stakeholders concurrently: charities, logistics, locations.

·Working alongside Producer and Director on the Ramble weekend schedule.

About You

·Minimum of three credits as an Assistant Producer.

·Experience working as an Assistant Producer in Factual/ Fact Entertainment, especially presenter led programmes.

·Proven experience working with safeguarding and vulnerable contributors.

·Strong understanding of compliance and duty of care.

·Ability to handle sensitive subject matter with empathy and professionalism.

·Excellent storytelling and organisational skills, including thorough research and contingency planning.

·Confident working independently and as part of a team.

Contract Dates: 20th July - 23rd October 2026.

Contract Type: Freelance PAYE

Base: Bristol with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
