BBC Studios is seeking TWO experienced Producer/Directors to join the team on Antiques Roadshow, one of the BBC’s most recognisable and long-running flagship series. For almost 50 years, the programme has engaged audiences across the UK with its remarkable valuations, extraordinary objects and compelling human stories.

Working closely with the senior editorial team, you will be responsible for directing talent, experts and contributors on location, identifying editorial opportunities as they arise, and ensuring that material is delivered to the highest editorial, creative and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Directing high-profile talent, experts and contributors on location.
  2. Set up, plan and manage complex or fast-turnaround shoots.
  3. Identify, assess and shape emerging stories in a live and dynamic environment.
  4. Script and structure clear, engaging editorial content.
  5. Ensure all content meets BBC editorial, legal, compliance and copyright requirements.
  6. Work collaboratively with the wider editorial and production teams to deliver high-quality material for broadcast.


We are looking for individuals with:

  1. Proven experience as a Producer/Director within factual or factual entertainment (arts and history experience useful).
  2. Excellent editorial judgement and the ability to develop narratives under pressure.
  3. Demonstrable scriptwriting and story-structuring skills.
  4. A sound understanding of BBC compliance and copyright processes.
  5. A genuine interest in history and antiques.

Base: Bristol (with location filming around the UK)

Dates:

PD1: Approximately early May to June 2026     

PD2: Approximately early June to July 2026
