Countryfile is one of the UK’s most-loved factual programmes, celebrating rural life, wildlife, farming, sustainability, and the people shaping the British countryside. We’re looking for a creative and highly organised Digital Assistant Producer to join our team and help grow the Countryfile digital presence across web, social media, and emerging platforms.

You’ll help us bring the spirit of Countryfile to digital audiences through compelling storytelling, engaging multimedia content, and clever use of data and trends.

The role will involve:

·Pitching, developing, and producing high-quality digital content, including short-form video, social-first features, articles, and interactive formats.

·Collaborating with editorial teams, presenters, and production crews to repurpose broadcast material into digital-ready assets.

·Managing day-to-day scheduling and publishing across Countryfile’s social and online platforms.

·Using analytics to track performance and inform content decisions.

·Staying across rural stories, environmental issues, countryside culture, and online trends to identify new digital opportunities.

·Supporting digital coverage for specials such as Countryfile Rambles.

·Sync mapping

We’re looking for someone who is:

·A confident digital storyteller with experience creating engaging social or online content.

·Skilled in video editing software.

·Highly organised with strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.

·Curious about the countryside, environment, rural life, and outdoor culture.

·Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.

·Comfortable analysing audience data to refine and improve content.

·Confident self-shooting skills.

Desirable Experience

·Experience working on factual, environmental, rural, or lifestyle content.

·Familiarity with BBC editorial guidelines or similar broadcast standards.

·Knowledge of accessibility best practice for digital content.

·Photography or graphic creation skills (Canva, Photoshop, or similar).


Contract Dates: End of February  – 19th of June 2026

Base: Bristol, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office

Closing Date: 9th of February 2026

The role is offered as a freelance contract.
