LOCATION RESEARCHER 

 

STV Studios is looking for a Location Researcher?to join the team on a successful returning series.

Start Date: 16th February 2026 

Duration: initial 3 months with possibility of extension 

Filming: Yorkshire and across the UK 

Based: Successful candidates will need to be based either in or around Glasgow or Leeds.

The successful candidate will be required to 

 

  1. Work away from home on location on a weekly basis for the duration of the contract.  
  2. Be proactive and forward thinking, supporting a Shooting PD and Shooting AP whilst on location, helping to set up filming locations and prepare accurate briefs for presenter when asked. 
  3. Assist with looking after on-screen talent and contributors 
  4. Maintain accurate logs, including identifying items that entail copyright, legal and compliance issues 
  5. Assist the PD and AP with kit 

 

Key experience for this role 

 

  1. Experience working on location in fast paced production schedule 
  2. Experience working with contributors and on-screen talent 
  3. Full driving licence is essential for this role 
  4. Experience of driving large vehicles with confidence desirable for this role 
  5. Knowledge of camera kit desirable  

 

Please note this is not an entry level position and previous experience working as part of a location team is essential. We will consider experienced Runners looking to take a step up to Location Researcher.
