Assistant Producer

STV Studios are seeking an experienced Assistant Producer to join a returning BBC2 series. 

Please note that the commission has yet to be 100% signed off, and as such interviews and job offer are subject to this. 

Start Date: 19th January 2026*

End Date: Mid April 2026*

Based: London

*Dates are subject to the commission and thus subject to change

 The right candidate should have at least 2 years' experience in the following areas:

·     Working on location around the UK

·     Building and maintaining good relationships with contributors 

·     Working with onscreen talent 

·     Building and co-ordinating recce and shoot schedules  

·     Researching stories, fact-checking and writing script notes 

·     An interest in history would be beneficial. 

·     Experience working with comedy talent, on presenter-led programmes and/or travelogues is also advantageous.

·     Data wrangling skills an advantage

 

We are looking for someone who is both detail-orientated and able to look at the bigger picture. You will be able to offer a variety of ideas to fulfil a brief and think outside the box to troubleshoot. 

 

The role would involve working across all episodes in a series, so the ability to simultaneously juggle and maintain different aspects of the production across different episodes - locations, contributors, research - is also vital.  

 

This role involves driving, so please only apply if you have a full, clean driving licence and consider yourself a confident and experienced driver. 

 

Interviews will take place during the week of January 5th, 2026. Weekly rate including holiday pay to be discussed. Candidate must be able to commute to Central London daily.
