New Pictures, in partnership with Sky Entertainment Group, is offering a paid shadow Directing placement on an exciting new High-End TV (HETV) series. This is a brilliant opportunity for an emerging Director to gain a valuable insight into the workings of a large-scale scripted production to support with career development and the potential to ‘step up’ to long-form drama. Ideally candidates will have experience as a Director or an Assistant Director on short-form projects (including commercials and music videos), be passionate about UK drama, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working on sets with cast and crew as part of a busy production team.
The successful candidate:
• Will have experience directing, or ADing short films, music videos, continuing drama or children’s TV.
• Have the ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team, building and maintaining effective working relationships across a range of departments.
• Demonstrate excellent personal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Be able to work to tight deadlines and manage their time effectively.
DATES
Prep: 6 x weeks between 19/1/26 – 27/2/26
Shoot: 8 x weeks between 2/3/26 – 24/4/26
Edit: Allow 2 x weeks ad hoc between 27/4/26 – 26/6/26
Final Post: Allow 15 days between 29/6/26 – 4/8/26
