BBC Studios Bristol are seeking an experienced AP to work on the new series of Fake or Fortune?, the BBC’s most popular Art strand.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on this acclaimed arts programme, in which Fiona Bruce and Philip Mould delve into the complex histories of various artworks, exposing fakes and unearthing lost masterpieces.
Working closely with a Producer/Director, you will undertake investigative research into the mysterious stories of intriguing works of art: tracking provenance, following leads, and unravelling the truth.
A passion for art and history is a must.
Well organised and able to juggle multiple lines of enquiry at once, successful candidates will have excellent people skills and experience of working with high profile talent.
The role requires writing and storytelling skills alongside meticulous research ability and confidence in utilising online databases, libraries, record offices and archive.
A proven ability to handle access negotiations with museums, institutions and other locations is essential, and you must have knowledge of both researching and clearing stills.
A foreign language would be desirable, as would self-shooting skills since it may be necessary to occasionally operate a second camera.
The role is offered as a freelance PAYE contract.
Start Date: 26th of January 2026
End Date: 5th of June 2026
Base: Bristol with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
