FANTASTIC HORTICULTURAL ASSISTANT PRODUCER OPPORTUNITY

BBC Studios is looking for an Assistant Producer with horticultural specialism to join its RHS Chelsea Flower Show team for the 2026 series.

Working on the world’s most famous flower show, you will help deliver coverage of this prestigious event to BBC1, BBC2 and BBC daytime.

The role will be supporting a team of Producers and Directors during pre-production by carrying out research and develop the editorial content for VTs and the live broadcast items for the series. 

You will need to demonstrate a proven passion for horticulture, with a relevant qualification or experience and at least 3 years working in TV as a Horticultural Researcher. You will also need an excellent knowledge of plants and the gardening calendar.

Ideally, candidates will have previously worked on both gardening and live OB event productions, have a proven track record of finding great stories and contributors and demonstrate they can set up and manage multiple UK and foreign shoots. 

The successful candidate needs to be creative, well organised and able to assist multiple producers and high-level talent in a fast paced, live environment.

An excellent network of contacts across the horticultural and flower show world is also beneficial. 

Shortlisted candidates will be asked a series of horticultural and relevant skill based questions in order to ascertain their suitability for the role.
