Job Summary:
The Development Assistant Producer plays a key role in generating and shaping new TV ideas across multiple genres, supporting the pitch process from concept to commission. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to a creative, resourceful individual with experience in development and a strong understanding of the commissioning landscape.
A proven track record in helping to secure commissions and a keen interest in both UK and global broadcast trends are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development team in generating original and compelling TV concepts.
- Write, format, and design pitch documents, treatments, and visual decks.
- Conduct thorough research to support projects, including topics, talent, competitors, and international formats.
- Contribute ideas to brainstorms and pitch strategies.
- Assist in casting contributors and talent, and liaise with agents and contacts.
- Support with the editing and delivery of sizzle tapes, mood reels, and casting videos.
- Maintain organized records of ideas, submissions, and development slates.
- Collaborate closely with development producers to prepare pitch materials for broadcasters and streamers.
- Monitor and report on commissioning briefs, broadcast trends, and international format markets.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, meeting notes, and tracking submissions.

- Avid follower of evolving trends and formats across the UK and global television industry.
- Creative and imaginative, with a strong editorial eye for what makes a compelling show.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, able to craft persuasive pitches.
- Organized and detail-oriented, capable of juggling multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative and proactive, thrives in a team environment but can also work independently.
- Technically confident, ideally with experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Keynote, or equivalent.
- Passion for television, with broad knowledge across genres, platforms, and audiences
