GARDENERS’ WORLD: Series Producer
BBC Gardeners’ World is looking for an experienced and creative Series Producer to lead the team on the UK’s best loved and most respected gardening TV programme. Reporting to the Series Editor, this is a high profile and hands on role delivering 40 hours of exceptional primetime content per year that has to consistently feel fresh, innovative and exciting. This includes the main series, along with live event coverage from four flower shows across the UK, winter specials and compilation programmes. Celebrating its 58th year, Gardeners’ World is a heritage brand, produced from our Bristol base, and forms a key part of BBC Studios slate of programmes alongside Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and creative leader with a proven track record in high profile factual entertainment programming. The ability to motivate and inspire a big team and forge trusted working relationships with talent both on and off screen, including high profile presenters, is essential.
You will also be required to demonstrate:
• Experience in delivering programmes on a fast turnaround weekly show.
• Strong editorial judgement. Understanding what makes a great story and helping the team realise an idea from initial concept through to TX.
• Experience of planning and organising complex filming and post production schedules
• Experience of managing budgets and generating creative solutions to ensure value for money.
• Experience of creating content and delivering programmes from live events across the UK.
• Knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines - including legal, health and safety regulations, artists’ rights, copyright, insurance, working with children and use of social media.
