The Role

The PR Manager, Global Communications is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of external communications (B2B and some B2C), generating positive coverage and awareness for Fremantle as a leading global producer and distributor of drama and film, factual and entertainment. The role sits within Fremantle’s Global Communications Team, reporting into the Head of Communications and includes line management of the PR Assistant.


Key Activities and Responsibilities:

·Responsible for the day-to-day execution of global PR for Fremantle’s key businesses which include drama & film, factual and entertainment

·Works with the Head of Comms and marketing counterparts to build and deliver impactful communication strategies including trade, broadcaster and acclaim activity

·Acts as the main comms point person for key titles, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the business

·Manages the execution of PR activity across key titles including market launches, international talent junkets, festivals and awards, and B2C client activity where appropriate e.g. events/screenings/generating consumer coverage

·Builds and maintains relationships with key media including trade and relevant consumer contacts

·Works closely with the wider comms team to manage the press office including handling reactive enquiries, securing proactive opportunities, liaising with regional offices, managing trackers and calendars, and regular reporting back to the business

·Prepares written materials for promotional purposes, including press releases, FAQs, press packs etc. managing approvals processes and ensuring that the messages are communicated effectively

·Builds strong relationships with communications and PR counterparts at priority clients (networks, producers, licensees, agents/publicists, etc.)

·Works with internal and corporate comms to feed in positive news stories about the global businesses

·Represents the communications team to the business, as required

Key competencies and qualifications:

·Team-player with experience of developing PR strategies and a track record in delivering high profile trade and consumer PR campaigns

·Ability to identify creative opportunities and develop them collaboratively and effectively

·Experience of managing media relations to deliver a positive outcome

·Excellent media contacts and a demonstrable ability to forge new contacts in new sectors

·Proactive operator with the ability to be forward thinking, work out solutions and next steps and able to deputise when called upon

·Strong track record of working under pressure and multi-tasking with the ability to manage several projects and PR campaigns simultaneously

·Experience of working with senior team and skilled at stakeholder management

·Understands the wider media landscape and where FM fits

·Able to digest complex ideas and make these accessible to a wider audience, including awareness and knowledge of social/influencer activity and how to engage a digital audience

·Excellent written and communication skills - able to write dynamic and precise copy without errors

·A continued desire to increase effectiveness, learning and best practice

·Experience of managing people effectively to deliver strong results. This includes working with and managing agencies

·Demonstrates awareness of potential issues and ability to know when to refer up (experience of crisis comms a bonus)

·Culturally sensitive

·Computer literate
