We are looking for an established Series Producer with experience of running police access or ‘blue light’ programmes to head up a new 6-part documentary series for Channel 4, following the West Midlands Police.

An aptitude for story-telling is paramount. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to turn unmediated, fly-on-the-wall filming into cohesive narrative and compelling episodes. The role will involve managing a team of producer/directors embedded within the police, and supporting them around the clock as they cover developing incidents in the field.

A willingness to innovate and encourage fresh approaches to the creative is also important - be that through the use of graphics, music, shooting or editing style. This is a high-end production that will feel distinct from other series in the genre.

The nature of the content requires meticulous attention to detail and candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with sensitive subject matter, as well as be comfortable liaising with legal departments.

The production is located in Birmingham, and we are keen to receive applications from in and around the West Midlands region. However we are open to applicants from across the nations and regions.

The contract covers the duration of filming and editing until delivery, running from August 2022 to January 2023.

We are committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and encourage applications from groups that are underrepresented in our industry. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of their background.
Applications are welcome from disabled people. Any adjustments required will be arranged and support with Access to Work applications will be available.
